Yarning circle | online

RSVP www.voicesofbradfield.org/yarn

The yarning circle concept is used by many First Nations peoples across the world. It's a space for active listening and reflection.

Join Bridget Cama and Allira Davis (co-chairs of the Uluru Youth Dialogue) to learn more about the Uluru Statement from the Heart, and why the Voice to Parliament and upcoming referendum are so important.

This session focuses on providing education and factual information for young people aged 18-30 (but all are welcome) so that they can learn more about the Voice and referendum, and have informed conversations with their friends and family.

Speakers

  • Bridget Cama is a Wiradjuri First Nations and Pasifika Fijian woman who was born and grew up in Lithgow, New South Wales and has connections to the Cudgegong River just outside of Mudgee. Bridget has been working with the Uluru Dialogue since March 2019, is an associate of the Indigenous Law Centre at UNSW and legal support team to the Uluru Dialogue.
  • Allira Davis is a Cobble Cobble woman from the Barungum and Birrigubba Nations. She was born in Logan, Queensland and grew up in Beenleigh. Allira completed her Diploma in Government specialising in Project Management and has worked in public service, specifically in the Attorney General’s Department in Human Resources, Emergency Management and Business Operations where she worked on policies, grants and managing programs.

The session will be moderated by Tom Sesselmann, Executive member of Voices of Bradfield.
